The Club received the devastating news Saturday of the passing away of our Club Secretary Mr David Wragg...

At this sad time our thoughts and prayers are with Dave's wife June and his family and friends.

Dave Wragg has been instrumental in the progress of our club both on and off the pitch , he courageously picked up the "Wragg Amber flag" following the passing away of his brother and one of t...he club founders, Mick Wragg who tragically passed away shortly after forming the club, Dave's countless hours of dedicated work and support to the club and everyone around it for close on 40 years is a truly remarkable contribution in the history of our club, helping to provide so much for so many.

The overwhelming outpouring of admiration for gentlemen Dave from all walks of life in the past 24 hours really does speak volumes of the man and his family who supported his relentless hours of volunteering for the club for so many years.

Club President Bob Hill said of Dave's Passing " Not only has football lost a dedicated, passionate and true gentleman - I have lost a true friend. The devastating news has been very hard to take in - something you don't want to believe. But it is as a friend I will miss Dave greatly who gave me support and guidance especially through my bad times.. My thoughts are with June and the family at this sad time"

Club Chairman John Ward said of the loss " Today we have lost a true gent, dear friend and mentor, who has guided Handsworth to were it is now.Thoughts with June & family. Love you Dave....your dream WILL be delivered and I know you are still with us all the way, keep correcting me when needed, your support is invaluable"

To lose such an influential and passionate man ...will be very difficult for everyone who knew him, but one things for sure Dave & Mick Wragg will be looking down on the Amber Family proud as punch at every ball that's kicked, every goal scored and every new young player proudly wearing the Amber & Black shirt for the 1st time....Dave will take particular delight in every fulfilled Fixture list & referee appointment!

Dave's guidance, help and support has touched everyone who knew him, a level headed and knowledgeable man who be forever in our hearts.

We at the club have a responsibility to carry on the legacy that Dave Wragg has worked so hard to create... that would make him so proud.

Thank you to "Wraggy" for all you have done, fly safe our true Friend... Love you Mr Wragg.
